Marking Talks are back!?!?! - New Name!
by thedepressedsoul inwhen i was younger i used to hear about "marking talks" given in the past.
i believe they stopped in the 80's or 90's.
basically, if someone wasn't baptized or doing something unrepentant, they would get a "marking talk" and be treated the same as a df person.

There's no employees at Bethel so nothing about Obamacare applies to them.

What is the vow of poverty
by Jafox ini was told by someone that in 2007 two members of the branch committee in greece were removed because they breached the vow of poverty.
the matter was over a small amount, in the range of a few hundred euro.
is there a copy of this vow available and how would this be applied here?

Yes if you made money from a side job you are supposed to give it to them but they would usually gift it back to you.
I never saw anyone actually turn the money over. I guess it was an unwritten rule that no one cared about your money as long as you took a vacation day.

In the US, it means that if you sign the vow you can't have another job. As an example, a Bethelite wouldn't be allowed to have a night job at a McDonalds or something like that. The only way to earn extra money would be to use a vacation day to do a side odd job. I'm guessing it's similar in other countries.

Wozza, the Williams sisters have never been baptized. They are inactive unbaptized publishers at best... in other words they are nothing as far as the org is concerned. What is the org supposed to do with them?

in previous years, the upcoming yearbook's annual report on jws was released in november for the january 1st then the feb 1st watchtower, then earlier in december when it was only featured in the yearbook, then more recently with a couple of days of december 25th.

Yeah they've had to come up with a lot of excuses. First it was "these new partakers are filling the slots taken by people who were anointed but stopped being JWs. That didn't fly because man, that's a LOT of old anointed dudes leaving the org.
Then they spun it into 'a lot of the partakers are crazy.' that is even worse because what does that say for the org when there's THAT many crazy dudes.

I could see them dumping Wallkill. There's less and less printing and shipping so it would be easy to shift that to another branch.
They'd probably have to add on to Warwick if they sold Patterson though. They've got quite a few departments there plus the schools and stuff.

Spiral, from a fiscal standpoint the move makes sense.
They were able to make a killing from flipping all the property in the Heights.
It's also very expensive to operate in Brooklyn. The number has probably gone up, but when I was at Bethel 15 years ago, it costs twice as much to 'take care' of a Bethelite in Brooklyn than in the Farms or Patterson. Getting out made sense.
That said, I'm still not sure why they bought MORE property. They have a TON of unused land in Wallkill and Patterson.
